The two files, gcc1.40c.v1 and gcc1.40c.v2.Z, contain a Free Development System Subset for Xenix 386. The programs contained are: gcc, gdb, gas, patch, ar, ranlib, flex, bison, byacc, and rcs, among others. The diskettes were sent to me by Ronald Khoo and Steve Bleazard and are made available here "as is". The two files, when converted back to diskettes, should be installed with the SCO custom command. Assuming you have placed these on your system with the names above, do the following: 1. dd if=gcc1.40c.v1 of=/dev/fd096ds18 This will write the filke onto a diskette. Use the correct /dev/fd* to match your diskette. The diskette must be formatted prior to this step. 2. zcat gcc1.40c.v2.Z | dd of=/dev/fd096ds18 This will uncompress the file and write it onto your diskette. 3. custom This will add the application to your system.
