100% NEWBIE with z/OS

I heve z/OS 1.1 (all 13CD's). I have all 12 dasd volumes ckd2cckd.exe'ed on my HDD. Hercules running on cygwin. I IPL first of them: IPL 0A80. I don't know on what state system stops? Can I play with it (and how :(( ). I can access Initial MVS console but can't do anything else. How to start TSO? CICS? When I connect another console/terminal I only get connection to Hercules message. WHY? Maybe you know some tutorial (Getting started with OS ;) ) I just... don't know/where to start?!?!?! THNX!!! It worked great! I had some errors by the end. Some I have managed... But I am left with those: *18.27.47 STC00029 *DSNT405E - DSNTLIDE DISPATCH PRIORITIES NOT IN SYNC: * IRLM : 0021 COMPARED TO DB2 : 0023 *18.34.30 *IRA200E AUXILIARY STORAGE SHORTAGE Any ideas? Wh when I try to connect another console it tries to PRINT and INVALID COMMAND is displayed. Once more thanks for help and patience. p.s. Someone asked if I am registered user. I'll put it like this: We have mainframe in our company. But nobody let me play with it (can't blame them...). So I put OS on my PC.
